The Shrooms is a Webcomic by Charlotte Werndt and Dave Smith.

Charlotte has been creating The Shrooms and many other characters for many years.  Up until now she had considered them doodles.  Good doodles, but doodles nonetheless.. This has all changed and now she can’t stop drawing them and creating more characters to surround The Shrooms world.

Charlotte lives in Frankfurt, Germany.  A lot of her English skills come from growing up listening to Frank Zappa with her father, so you can imagine that her sense of humour is pretty unique.

Dave has been writing his blog for over a year, but talking bollocks seeing the humour in situations his whole life.  It was Dave that saw The Shrooms all over Charlottes notebooks and pads and thought it could be turned into a webcomic with relative ease…

Often likened to Uncle Fester or a Giant Panda, Dave lives in Frankfurt, Germany where the language escapes him, but talking English in increasingly loud tones seems to get what he wants…so that’s OK.

This webcomic is dedicated to Stephan Werndt (Charlottes father)….don’t worry though, he isn’t dead. He has always (and continues) to play a massively important part in Charlottes life.  She is who she is thanks to him.

Okay ladies, this doenst feel as easy as i thought it would. Just consider i owe my life to this guy and the only thing i can dedicate to him right now is my fricken comic. My Dad formed me in every possible way. He had to completely turn my life around in order to make it possible for me to recover. He’s a truly amazing guy, bit like a mixture between Santa Claus, Billy Connolly and ZZ Top, if that makes any sense to you . Dad is a fuckin hero, i just wanted to tell the world and him how much I love him and say thanks  for always letting me choose my own way, for knowing me better than anyone does and for being such a great reference for all my thoughts, woes and sorrows. And thank you aswell, Dad, for bringing Angelika into my life, the best (and only) mother I’ve ever had. Thank you both for giving me two wonderful sisters and a great brother. I’m so grateful for everything you guys did for me.

…Ah for fucks sake.. guess thats the first time I’ve ever written that down, so I strolled off a wee bit. To those who read it anyway, thanks. Sounds a bit like an oscar-speech but as far as I’m concerned, this is worth just as much or even more than that.

Here I go, off to Shroomland, probably with a short stop in Whooohoo.
